Birthdays, Books, & Websites!

Happy Saturday to you! Guess who is having a birthday today? Need a minute? Oh, I’ll tell you! My book! Specifically, my first book. My eldest. Firstborn. Trusting God with Every Breath is 3 years old today! Cue the cake and candles!

These past 3 years have been filled with firsts. Interviews on live radio, podcasts, and taped episodes. Recording my audio version, which was super fun, yet super exhausting! Viewing my book in so many places, popping up in airports, gas stations, book stores, and the Museum of the Bible! Hearing from readers across the the world and rejoicing with them how God has used the book to increase their faith, unshackle their chains, and bring hope again where only darkness reigned.

How many times have I heard the phrase, “She’s talking just to me!” Or “everyday the devotion is written specifically for me!” All I can do is smile. God is so good to us. So very good.

Trusting God with Every Breath has sold over 200,000+ copies worldwide and continues to rank high with all those who measure sales. Because of her popularity, 3 additional books have joined her family: the audio version, the Spanish version, and her companion pink journal. Actually 4 additional books, but that’s a conversation for early 2027, hint, hint!

If you’ve followed me on Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn, you’re aware of my latest news. And if you’re not a social media aficionado (I wasn’t much either before becoming an author!), I’ll spill the beans! I have a brand new book releasing on November 3rd called Trusting God with All My Heart! Cue the band as yes, it’s a big deal! God led me in writing this book last summer. Actually, it’s pretty much all I did! It will be a daily prayer book, filled with scripture, prayer, devotion, and an action steps. My artwork helps each page look fancy! Preorders are available everywhere, even on my new website.

“What? You have a new website? Am I on it right now?” Haha, not yet. My new website, amymecham.com, will be live soon and all traffic from amylinnea.com will transfer instantly through a portal in the clouds. While I adore my current blog site (I’ve had it for 12 years and am honestly a bit sad when I think about saying goodbye…!), my new website will have the best idea ever: my shop! I’ll be selling authored copies of all my books, artwork made by yours truly, and everything else will be basically the same as my current blog. Except better. Way better.

So that’s about it for today. My book’s 3rd birthday. My new book coming November 3rd. My new website. Such exciting times! Now I realize fully why God asked me to stop teaching in the classroom. He asked me to step away while loving my job. But I knew. And now I really know. Writing, talking, and sharing Jesus is what I’ll be doing now. Well, I’ve done that before, yes, but now, I have more time to dive all in. Like get my hair wet type thing. And He was so kind as to allow me to keep my toes in education as an adjunct professor at Liberty University. The best of both worlds!

As I close, please pray for my Auntie Ruth. She’s been one of my biggest cheerleaders with my blogs, books, and paintings. She’s battling brain cancer and not doing so well anymore physically. She and my uncle need our prayers for peace and rest. Their faith is deep, but life’s still hard. Especially when facing the end of life. I know God’s got them. I know God’s got you. And I know God’s got me. Isn’t that so comforting to know?

Purpose Again

I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Psalm 16:8

Recently finished a little project.

Sitting behind a large microphone, I read my entire devotion out loud.

Every single one.

Took over 16 hours and boy was it fun!

I’ve always enjoyed acting or reading aloud to my students or at church, so this adventure was right up my ally.

But, it was so exhausting.

Sitting there, wanting each word to portray the correct emotion or meaning does take it out of you. Went to bed at 8:30 two of the nights!

Listening to my voice in the headphones, it almost seemed surreal.

What, God, do you want me to share? How do you want your message conveyed?

As I kept reading month after month, the message became clear.

Tell them how much I love them.

Tell them how faithful I am to them.

Tell them how faithful I always will be to them.

Warn them of the lies they still believe.

Remind them of their choices between life and death.

Tell them I’ll help them, every step of the way.

Tell them life won’t be easy, but I can give them peace.

Only if they choose Me.

God is so good to us, and we often forget Whose we are or Whose power lives in us.

We forget and forge on alone, battling this and that in our human strength alone.

Purpose again to live for Him.

Purpose again to trust only in Him.

Purpose again to put your hand in His, allowing Him to walk you down the path He has specifically just for you.

Remembering His Faithfulness

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Psalm 77:11-12

Do you remember?

Do you ponder all God has done for you?

All He has done for others?

Better yet, do you keep a record?

A journal of all His faithfulness?

I have one. It’s not great as I admittedly forget to write things down. Regularly.

But I’m going to get better. Way better.

One could write volumes each day, couldn’t we?

If only we could see what God sees.

What He protects us from.

What our prayers do in heaven.

What plans He has for us.

How near each day He really is to us.

We’d be in utter awe.

Jaw on the ground type thing.

Psalm 77 begins with crying out to the Lord.

He is troubled. So troubled he cannot speak.

His mind works, though. Sound familiar?

He begins to ask himself if God’s steadfast love has forever ceased?

He then sets his mind on God.

He decides to focus on God instead of his present misery.

On God’s promises and faithfulness.

He determines to remember and ponder what God has faithfully done for him and others.

He reminds himself God was always there, going before. Preparing the way.

While we cannot see God’s literal footprints, imagine them.

Picture God walking with you, sitting with you, watching over you while you slumber.

God wants to be your first thought when you wake and your last before you sleep.

If we had a glimpse into the spiritual realm, we’d never have anything before God. Ever.

God’s authority is here. As a Christian, live within His sovereign authority.

Ask Him for eyes to see all He does for you.

And choose to remember God’s faithfulness to you today and always.

That reminds me of my book.

Yes, I wrote a book. So excited!!!

Actually, God wrote a book for me. It’s a DAILY devotional for women taken straight from my blogs. 365 devotions. WOW, right?

It’s called Trusting God with Every Breath. Subtitle of my blog.

It’s a tangible reminder of God’s faithfulness to me. Written evidence. Now that I think about it, I do record His faithfulness.

Book is due September 5th. Hard to believe, although I’ve been working on it for over a year now. So much work, but so rewarding!

Anyhow, God is good. Even in the times of “if”, He still is. He’s got you and He’s got me. What more could we ever need?
