It’s not about me. Seriously, it’s not. We all have a story. We all have trials – they just come in different flavors. Mine is nothing special – it is what it is. I am compelled to share only for this reason: freedom. God wants to take our burdens, big or small. He wants to make all things new. But we have to allow Him to do that. We must ask.
So what is my story? This was me a dozen years ago: first year teacher, first year working full time, son who was very angry, a daughter whose life was hanging in the balance, husband who declared himself gay after 20 years of marriage, beloved dog’s death, unwanted divorce. Fast forward a few years and God has brought me a wonderful new husband. But my parents married over 50 years are separated, I’ve had 6 miscarriages, and a daughter divorced with her lifestyle change.
But those details simply don’t matter. The details of our trials are just that – details. It’s what we do with our trials that defines us. Do we crawl back into bed or face each new moment with God’s strength? Do we bless God or curse our very existence? Yes, our trials are very real….whether it’s divorce, a miscarriage, death, or surgery. Here’s the good part. God has come. He has taken over and created all things new – and He can do the same for you. His faithfulness has enabled me to hold my head high and make my heart free to love and give. He has given me the most wonderful gift: my sweet handsome husband who is my faithful friend and love. God cares about all of our trials. And know what? He cares about you.
Want that too? Ask. Surrender yourself to God and He will be faithful in the little things as well as the big. From putting duct tape on my mouth to healing our hearts, God has worked his marvelous deeds. How beautiful it is on the other side. Won’t you join me? There’s plenty of room.
Welcome to my story. Pull up a chair and let’s sit awhile. I’ll put on some coffee. God is already here. Waiting. And He is good, so very good.
I love how your about page is set up! Keep on sharing God’s word! 🙂

Amy, your post today hit home with me. I find myself so many times in life not waiting on God and doing it myself. I pray God’s blessings for you today.

It’s a process, isn’t it Sue? Thankfully His grace allows us to begin again whenever we need to. Blessings to you, too!
