Fashioned after God

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” Genesis 1:26

We are fashioned after the image of God.

Created in the pattern of God Himself.

From your pinky toes to the hairs on your head.

From the tips of your fingers to the soles of your feet.

From your shining eyes to your intelligent brain.

Your entire being is created by God’s design.

Crafted after His imprint.

Look at all of God’s creation.

The trees and the flowers. The oceans and the deserts.

The lions and the otters. The birds and the bees.

The mountains and the beaches. The valleys and the hills.

God has created all of it. Yet, there is only one creation that mirrors Him: us.

We think, feel, plan, and create.

We love, sacrifice, serve, are sometimes disappointed and other times full of joy.

None other of God’s creation is so complex.

None other has built up our world with God’s creative brain.

And none other has a relationship with Almighty God.

Yes, the Bible says all of creation will bow down and worship (Revelation 5:13).

All of creation will praise His name.

Even the rocks will cry out if we do not (Luke 19:40).

Yet God has given us our very own choice: to serve Him or not.

To praise Him or not. To love Him or not.

As you spend your minutes here on earth, live in a way that honors God.

That honors the creation God made you to be.
